As of writing, I have purchased and built my own personal woodworking table!
Made of beech, its sturdy and very stable, so I'm looking forward to making BIGGER pieces in the future.
Here's some pictures!

Thank you Elizabeth for modeling.
In seriousness, this purchase is rather big for me. I struggle with actually buying things for the growth of this practice. It's always been the case that I should be able to do it myself, so the original plan was to make all the parts individually. That's the cross beams, the joinery, the pilot holes, the planing, the cutting and the sanding. I was prepared to do all of this, as a good project should be approached, but the other fact reared its inevitable head in my direction.
Procrastination.
The truth about me is I have all these plans thats I'm doing constantly but I rarely act apon them. It's not that I'm lazy, because I know I'm not(1), but that completing the plans means doing the plans. Then time becomes so limiting, so I focus on the things I can do, which is often the small carvings or repetitive actions that require no real thought. A carving I've done recently was a board made completely from the use of the seed of life. I was able to watch videos or documentaries whilst doing it. I'm really happy how it turned out.
However, as I did all these, I did not make my workbench and i did not tidy my workspace. So to combat this, buying a premade workbench was extremely beneficial for me. Now I can create other plans that couldn't be done until I had the table. The doors of possibility hath been thrown open wide!
So to conclude, I have no excuse not to be in my studio now. I need some wood of course, but I have some suppliers that I use like Englishwoods.co.uk, but that's an easily remedied problem. I also need to come up with some designs and projects to really get going. I have this idea for making a Germanic clock, or a Pictish design slab. Either way lets get going!
I have a Woodwork table, time to make it a Willwork table!
(1) I have learnt welsh to standard that I can have a conversation. I've taught myself how to make jewellery and how to paint. I have a better working knowledge of prehistoric Britain and Britain in general than most people here. I'm not tooting my own horn here, but recognising that I am actually good at what I am doing. Love yourself, y'know.
